Marital status

The State Archive of Lucca preserves the fund Atti dello stato civile del Principato di Lucca (1807-1814) that collects the second copies of birth, marriage and death registers produced by the municipalities of Lucca, Massa and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana.

– List of conscription (1840-1948).

The recruitment archives are the following: Recruitment Office, which contains the list of recruits of this province born between 1833 and 1923 called to the recruitment examination; Captaincy of Viareggio – Recruitment Office holds the recruitment lists of the Navy for the classes between 1901 and 1985. The Recruitment Lists from 1924 and the next classes are hold at the Florence State Archive.

The draft cards series of the classes of 1844-1888, is available for consultation at the Pisa State Archive; the institute of Lucca holds the draft cards of the Luccan recruits born between 1913 and 1940.

Databases

The Institute has created recently a database available for consultation by the general public, in which the names taken from the Lucca Extraction lists (1880-1890) and the Garfagnana (1875-1890) have been gathered. An additional database that includes the names of the dead, taken from the registries of the “alienated” series of the Procura della Repubblica di Lucca is available for consultation by the users.

Marital status

The State Archives in L’Aquila hold second copies of birth, marriage and death registers with their indexes and attachments from 1809 to 1865 from the municipalities in the current province of L’Aquila and the suppressed district of Cittaducale, now in the province of Rieti. Recently, the court in L’Aquila also transferred the registers of the Italian period from 1866 to 2000 for the municipalities in its district. The fund can be consulted in the study room of the institute.

In the fund called the Provincial Leva Council are collected the conscription lists of the classes (born) between 1768 and 1841 of the districts of L’Aquila, Avezzano, Cittaducale and Sulmona and also, but only for the class of 1819, the matriculation rolls of conscripts from the provinces of Abruzzo and Molise. The Archive L’Aquila Conscription Office Instead, it contains the conscription lists referring to the classes between 1842 and 1944 and the registers of the reformed (classes 1874-1899) male population; there are gaps for the municipalities of the former Cittaducale district (classes 1842-1908) and for the municipalities of Popoli and Bussi (from the class of 1908).

The Aquila and Sulmona Military District Archive (classes of 1843-1913) holds the draft cards and military records of the enrolled recruits.

The Fermo State Archive holds the Civil Registry files of the Fermo Circumscription (1860-1959), formed by files from the Fermo City Registry. Marital status

The Campobasso State Archives hold the civil status fonds, which collect the second copies of birth, marriage and death registers, produced by the offices of the municipalities, with indexes and annexes in accordance with the regulations in force in the various historical periods, and are subdivided into Civil Status of the Municipality of Baranello (1809-1982); Civil Status of the Municipalities in the Province of Campobasso (1809-1957) (with the exclusion of Duronia whose records are in the State Archives in Isernia). Marriage proceedings for the oldest part (birth certificates of the bride and groom and death certificates of their parents) are also included. Since 1866, citizenship registers (mostly changes of residence), ten-year indexes and annexes of births, marriages and deaths prescribed by Italian state law have been added.

The Catanzaro State Archive and its Lamezia Terme section hold theCivil Registry archive, that is to say, the duplicates of the birth, marriage and death certificates, and of the marriage announcements between 1809 and 1865, of the Catanzaro, Crotona and Vibo Valentia current provinces.

Army census

The so-called Military Archive holds the Recruitment Lists of the Catanzaro, Crotone (classes of 1942-1949) and Vibo Valentia military districts (classes up to 1929).

TheMilitary Archive holds the draft cards, which give us information about the military service, the Army corps and the military campaigns in which the privates and non-commissioned officers born between 1843 and 1945 in the old military districts of the current provinces of Catanzaro, Crotona and Vibo Valentia served.

The national 14-18 Documents and Images of the Great War project, coordinated by the Central Institute for the Single Catalogue of Italian Libraries, was set up with the initial objective of virtually bringing together and making available online the bibliographic and archival material of the War Fund. The State Archives of Chieti, with the Lanciano section, preserves the fund called Civil Status Acts from 1809 to 1930 from the municipalities in the area now in the province of Chieti.

The Chieti Military District (Classes 1843-1943), L’Aquila and Sulmona Military Districts (Classes 1914 – 1937) collections collect the matriculation rolls of enlisted conscripts (privates, non-commissioned officers and aviation specialists) with alphabetical rubrics and Milizia Volontaria L’Aquila-Sulmona, Colonial Military Districts (Classes 1909-1923).

The Brescia State Archives hold Civil status records of births, marriages, deaths with indexes and annexes from the Napoleonic period (1806-1814), and Italian civil status records of the municipality of Brescia and the municipalities aggregated to it (1880-1928): Brescia, Caionvico, Fiumicello Urago, Mompiano, San Bartolomeo, San Nazzaro, Sant’Alessandro and Sant’Eufemia della Fonte.

The microfilms of the Parish Books (in other words, the baptisms, marriages and deaths, and, in some cases, confirmations, illegitimate children and families) from the 1670’s to today are available for consultation in the Bolzano Provincial Archive.
