From the register to History: Egle Trincanato

Egle Trincanato

On the page From the register to History, we publish the birth certificate of Egle Trincanato (1910-1998), the first woman to graduate in architecture in Venice, as well as director of the Doge’s Palace and deputy director of the IUAV. She dedicated her life to the rehabilitation and restoration of the city that had adopted her and that she loved so much. She represents the symbol of many women who, after World War II, had to fight for emancipation and to succeed in a world and profession that still seemed to offer too limited opportunities and space.
