On Tuesday 16 November 2021, the General Director for Archives Anna Maria Buzzi, the Head of Service II and Head of Portals of the General Directorate for Archives Sabrina Mingarelli and the Director of the Central Institute for Archives Elisabetta Reale present the New portal Antenati. Gli Archivi per la ricerca anagrafica.
The new portal, with renewed graphics, new features and a new mobile interface that makes it accessible at any time and from any device, makes available over 100,761,770 images and 1,383,064 digitised registers.
An immense and constantly growing body of documentation, preserved in the more than 100 State Archives located throughout Italy, where names and stories of the past are recorded, is now accessible to everyone thanks to this digitalisation and networking project, which makes it easy to search by name or by register (marriage, baptism, death, etc.).
In addition to civil status records, in the near future it will also be possible to publish on the Portal documentation on enlistment and military careers dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries, thus enriching the sources already available to citizens.
IThe new Portal will be available from 16 November 2021 at antenati.cultura.gov.it.
The presentation at 10:30 a.m. can be followed live at this link.
