On the 100th anniversary of his death, we publish the death certificate of Giacomo Matteotti (1885-1924) on the page From the register to History. Politician and Member of Parliament, who courageously denounced the abuses committed by the fascist party. Because of his upright character and his positions oriented towards the ideals of justice and freedom, he was kidnapped and murdered. The ‘Matteotti crime’, because of the way it happened and the resonance it had, has left it in the historical memory as an example of civil commitment and democracy.
