From register to History: Giacomo Puccini

In the column From the register to History, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death, we have published the page containing the mensural extract of the baptised of the parish of S. Martino di Lucca, in which it is possible to read the name of Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924).

He was a musician and composer, one of the greatest Italian opera singers of all time. The author of masterpieces such as La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly and Turandot, he is remembered for his peculiar ability to recount intimate and universal emotions, combining both the orchestral part and the dramatic intensity with impeccable care.
