The film collection traces the life of the Gallo family between 1955 and 1970, in Bussoleno, Val di Susa, where Bruno Gallo, his wife Nella Del Rosso and their daughters Maria Grazia and Ebe lived, and during the many trips the family made in Italy and abroad. In addition to numerous travel documentaries, Bruno Gallo made a documentary about the Val di Susa flood of 1957 and documented several Alpine gatherings held in different Italian cities, organised by the National Alpine Association to which Gallo belonged.

Bruno Gallo (Genoa, 1916 – Turin, 1973) shot all his films in 8mm format, in the early years with a Kodak Brownie camera, later replaced in the 1960s by a Bolex Paillard.

The research and in-depth work was made possible thanks to interviews given between 2017 and 2019 by the filmmaker’s two daughters, Maria Grazia and Ebe Gallo.
