The Savoldi family of Nembro
The film collection traces some moments in the life of the Savoldi family between 1957 and 1975, mainly in Nembro (Bg), where the family lived, in Selvino, in the Seriana Valley, where Renato Savoldi had a house built for his family in the early 1950s, and in Nervi (Ge), when he visited his beloved cousin Antonietta Savoldi and her husband Giovanni Tadini. In addition to the more family-oriented documentation, the collection consists of films documenting the numerous trips in Italy and abroad undertaken with his wife, daughters and some friends, as well as some moments of his professional activity, and the documentation of some of his passions, such as sport and hunting.
Renato Savoldi (Bergamo, 1918-1976) shot all his films in 8mm and Super8 format.
The research and in-depth work was made possible thanks to interviews conducted between 2017 and 2020 by Dario Agazzi, the filmmaker’s grandson.
It is possible to retrace the history of the Savoldi family through the video edition of the Renato Savoldi film collection created with Klynt software.
