The Gandini in 1930s Italy
The film collection traces the life of the Gandini family between the end of the 1920s and the beginning of the 1940s, in the various cities where the family, due to the work of the head of the family, lived: in Cagliari, in Incisa Val d’Arno (FI), in Tregnago (VR), in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), in Modugno (BA) and in Alzano Lombardo (BG), as well as the places where the family spent their holidays, in particular in Rota Fuori, a hamlet of Rota Imagna (BG), and in Tregnago, where the Gandini family had during the 1930s bought a house to spend the summer.
The in-depth work was made possible thanks to interviews given between 2017 and 2018 by two of the filmmaker’s children, Piero Augusto and Elena Gandini.
It is possible to retrace the history of the Gandini family through the video edition of the Augusto Gandini film fund created with the Klynt software.
