Among the initiatives presented at the event We Make Future, the Festival of Social and Digital Innovation, which will be held in Rimini from 15 to 17 July, at the stand dedicated to the Central Institute for the Digitisation of Cultural Heritage – Digital Library, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture (MiC), on 16 July, the General Directorate of Archives presents the portal Antenati, completely re-engineered and renewed in graphics and consultation methods.
The Antenati portal responds to the collective desire to know one’s own origins and to preserve family memory, and makes available a fundamental historical source for studying, enhancing and preserving social and territorial identity. The State Archives preserve a rich variety of sources that are indispensable for genealogical research and for the history of individuals and families, which the portal makes accessible and searchable. The Portal is constantly evolving to make the search and consultation of information and documents easier and more effective.
Visitors will be presented with the new online consultation methods for digital reproductions of civil status registers and genealogical and registry documents on the portal: usability tests will also be carried out to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the portal’s new functions, directly involving the public.
