Sunday of Paper 2024 – State Archives of Rome

On Sunday, October 13, on the occasion of the Sunday of Paper event, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, the State Archives of Rome offers two initiatives.

In the morning, at the Alexandrian Hall, from 10 a.m., there will be an in-depth course entitled. Discovering one’s origins: from the family trees of noble Roman families to the Ancestors Portal, in which archivists will present documents provided with depictions of family trees and guide participants in genealogical research, conducted through the Ancestors Portal. Following this, attendees will be able to try their hand at thematic workshop activities.

In the afternoon, from 5 p.m., the Sala Alessandrina will be the setting for the initiative Theater in the Archives. In the footsteps of the brigands : Centro Teatrale Artigiano directed by Pietro Longhi will present the play Il brigante e la ballerina directed by Silvio Giordani. Theatrical performance with music inspired by the 19th-century phenomenon of brigandage and, in particular, the story of Alessandro Massaroni. For the occasion, some documents from the Commissione speciale per il brigantaggio fund will be on display.
