Fausto Moroni, China and Baldissero Torinese
The collection documents moments in the life of Fausto Moroni, aviator and aircraft tester. In particular, the period spent in China between 1932 and 1934, for professional reasons, and family life during the years of displacement in Baldissero Torinese (To). Other films were shot in the mid-1930s and in 1951 in Brescia, where some of his family members lived. Only one film was shot in Turin, the city of residence of the Moroni family, from 1935 onwards.
Fausto Moroni (Villachiara, 1895 – Baldissero Torinese, 1979) shot all his films in 8mm format, after buying an 8mm camera in 1932 in China, where he had gone to work.
The research and in-depth work was made possible thanks to interviews conducted between 2017 and 2018 by one of the filmmaker’s three daughters, Teresa Moroni, and her husband, Roberto Paglietta.
It is possible to retrace the history of the Moroni family through the video edition of the Fausto Moroni film collection created with Klynt software.
