The series comprises the population registers, i.e. family registers, in which information about the members of households is recorded (e.g. place and date of birth, residence, family relationships). The records mainly concern the periods 1812-1843 , 1843-1865. The sheets are accompanied by the relevant alphabetical headings.

The complex consists of the registers of the parish of Santa Maria della Pietà active at the hospital between 1768 and 1894. The registers record births and baptisms from 1768 to 1898, marriages celebrated between 1745 and 1825 and deaths from 1801 to 1897. Any gaps are attributed to the lack of availability of the sources.

The collection of the Municipality of Cremona includes the documentation produced since the institution of the Napoleonic civil status: birth registers from 1797 to 1810, marriage registers from 1806 to 1812, death registers from 1797 to 1865; there is also the register of the Daily Population Movement dated 1866. Any gaps are due to the lack of availability of the sources.

The collection, coming from the courts of Cremona and Crema, includes the registers introduced in the municipalities by the Italian civil status regulations since 1861. They are divided for each municipality in the series of birth, marriage, death, citizenship with alphabetical headings and ten-year indexes. If there is an interruption in the series, it is due to the suppression of the commune, which became a hamlet and was aggregated with another commune following administrative reforms.
