The rituals of a family in Cagliari
The film collection traces the life of the Vodret family between the end of the 1920s and the end of the 1940s in Sardinia, particularly in Cagliari, their city of residence, and in Ladispoli (RM), one of the Vodrets’ main holiday resorts.
Francesco Vodret (Cagliari, 1893-1962) shot all his films in the 9.5mm Pathé Baby format, having bought a Cine Nizo 9.5mm camera in 1929.
The in-depth work was made possible thanks to interviews given between 2017 and 2018 by one of the filmmaker’s sons, Antonio Vodret.
It is possible to retrace the history of the Vodret family through the video edition of the Francesco Vodret film collection created with the Klynt software.
